Newport Parks and Gardens: Belle Vue Park - Cardiff Road, Newport, Gwent, South Wales, UK
Close to central Newport and popular with locals, Belle Vue Park dates back in the 1890s and is one of the city's oldest public parks, full of Victorian character. Now actually a Grade II listed park due to its historical significance, Belle Vue Park is known for its attractive conservatories, rockeries, seasonal floral displays and bandstand, which has recently been restored. Many mature trees of botanical interest grow within the park and include Himalayan magnolias. The park also features stunning pink flowers each spring, and a large ginkgo biloba, which is known for its dramatic autumnal colours.

Newport Parks and Gardens: Beechwood Park - Chepstow Road and Christchurch Road, Newport, Gwent, South Wales, UK
Standing on the eastern side of the city, Newport's Beechwood Park has been a public parkland for more than 100 years. Surrounding the stately Beechwood House, the park is used for a number of sporting activities and leisure pursuits, such as football and cricket, while close to the house itself you will find tennis courts, a bowling green and plenty of shaded seating for spectators. Other attractions include two separate playground areas for young children, a large paddling pool which is only available in the summer months, and a pavilion.

Located off Cardiff Road and near to the M4 motorway's junction 28, Tredegar Park is the perfect spot for families and offers good facilities for young children. Highlights include a playground area, a summer paddling pool, large playing fields, tennis courts and even a good pitch and putt golf course. The Tredegar Park stands alongside a scenic river, with adjacent pathways offering the perfect place for an afternoon stroll.
