Newport Hotels and Newport Accommodation
(Newport, Gwent, South Wales, UK)
Whilst central Newport is not overflowing with reasonably priced hotels, there is a range of accommodation here available to suit most needs. A number of large 19th-century town houses have long been operating as guesthouses and provide convenient and comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation, right in the very heart of Newport, close to the Railway Station and the Queensway Road. Caerau Crescent and the adjoining Caerau Road is home to a number of good examples of this type of accommodation.
The helpful staff at the Newport tourist office within the Museum and Art Gallery will be able to assist in finding you accommodation if you are struggling on your own.
Newport Hotels and Accommodation: Where to Stay - Newport, Gwent, South Wales, UK
Further accommodation in central Newport lies alongside stretches of the River Usk, and lining much of Corporation Road and Chepstow Road, on the eastern side of the city. Also worth noting, several hotels are close to the historic St. Woolos Cathedral on Stow Hill and include the Anderley Lodge Hotel, the Knoll Guest House, the Glenroy Hotel and also the St. Etienne Guest House, all of which offer affordable guest rooms with en-suite bathrooms.
Those planning to stay in Newport and looking for well-known brands will find the Express by Holiday Inn Newport in the south-westerly Coedkernew area and also the Holiday Inn Newport close to the village of Caerleon, to the east of the city centre.
For budget accommodation and something a little different and cheaper to more traditional, city centre hotels and guesthouses, why not consider staying at the Tredegar Park camping site, in the actual grounds of a particularly grand manor house with extensive gardens.
If you are looking for a little luxury, the stunning five-star Ramada Plaza hotel is part of a new development, being built at the cost of more than £10 million and adds a certain touch of class to the Celtic Springs Business Park, which can be found on Newport's western side.
